Stott Named Chairman of the Board/Bankers Settlement ServicesChristopher L. Stott

Clearfield, PA – November 10, 2009

Christopher L. Stott, Vice President of CNB Bank’s Mortgage Lending and Retail Banking divisions, was recently elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for Bankers Settlement Services of Southwest Pennsylvania.

Banker’s Settlement Services of Southwest Pennsylvania (BSSSWPA) was created in 1999 and provides title insurance through local attorneys and settlement companies.  BSSSWPA is owned by a group of Pennsylvania community banks - CNB Bank/ERIEBANK, S&T Bank, Clearfield Bank & Trust, First Summit Bank, Mainline National Bank, Farmers & Merchants Bank and Citizens & Northern Bank. 

Mr. Stott began his career with CNB Bank in 1997 as an Assistant Vice President/ Mortgage Lending. Since that time, Mr. Stott developed and managed the secondary market mortgage program through Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) for CNB. He has been very instrumental in the success of CNB’s secondary market mortgage program, which currently services over $100 million.

In 1998, Mr. Stott earned the most prestigious Presidential Award at the Bank’s Annual All-Employee Kick-Off Meeting. This special award, presented by President & CEO, William F. Falger, acknowledges excellence in overall job performance. In 2000, Chris was promoted to Vice President/Mortgage Lending and, in 2008, was charged with leading the bank’s entire retail lending division.

Prior to his employment with CNB, Mr. Stott held a position as Vice President, Mortgage Lending at International Bank in Raton, NM from 1991-1997.

As Vice President/Mortgage and Retail Banking, Mr. Stott has the overall responsibility for managing the residential mortgage and consumer loan division of CNB Bank. These responsibilities include underwriting mortgage loans, secondary marketing of mortgage loans and the continuous development of the mortgage and retail loan programs. He also will be involved with members of executive management in the preparation and execution of the bank’s strategic plan. 

A native of Houtzdale, Mr. Stott graduated from Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School in 1986 prior to attending Penn State University where he received his B.S. degree in Accounting in 1990. He went on to Mortgage Bankers Association School of Mortgage Banking and has taken various courses from the American Institute of Banking. 

Chris is a member of the Clearfield Elks BPOE Lodge #540, and former board member of Clearfield Community Swimming Pool Association. He coaches the CNB Bank Girls Slow-Pitch Softball team and has coached Clearfield youth soccer as well. He currently resides in Clearfield with his wife, Leslie, and daughters, Taylor and Haeley.

CNB currently serves consumer loan and residential mortgage needs across Northwest Pennsylvania in the counties of Clearfield, Cambria, Centre, Elk, Erie, Jefferson, McKean and Warren.
